Join us for a guided tour of Utoro, a small but powerful neighborhood that embodies grassroots community building and international human rights advocacy.

Home to a resilient Zainichi Korean (ethnic Korean in Japan) community, Utoro reveals the impact of historical injustices and the strength of solidarity.

The tour includes a guided visit to the Utoro Peace Memorial Museum’s permanent exhibition and an exploration of the neighborhood, where you’ll hear powerful stories of struggle, resistance, and hope.

Since the 1980s, when the community faced forced eviction, people from Japan, Korea, Germany, the U.S., and beyond joined in support. Today, Utoro continues to welcome international visitors, standing as a symbol of peace and global solidarity.

Experience a unique case of international human rights advocacy—and see how local action can ripple worldwide.

After the tour, you’re welcome to relax or chat in the museum’s cozy community space.
