Because the Utoro neighborhood is here. During World War II, Korean laborers were brought to this site to build a military airfield; when the war ended and construction stopped, they had nowhere to return to and settled where they were. The community has lived here for over 80 years. Building the museum on this ground was the first step in protecting that memory.
