Visitors often describe the museum as unexpectedly warm. Staff and volunteers greet you at the front desk, and the building is quiet or lively depending on the day. Many people arrive a little uncertain and end up absorbed in the exhibition before they know it.
The ground floor community space is open — you’re welcome to sit, drink tea, read, or just stay a while.
