Can I explore the museum on my own without a guide?

Yes. you’re free to move through the exhibition at your own pace, no reservation needed. Guided tours and talks are pre-booked programs for groups. If you’d like to hear more from a guide as an individual visitor, our public tours are held regularly and open to everyone (held usually in Japanese).
