Many school groups combine Utoro with Byodoin, Fushimi Inari, or other Kyoto landmarks. The museum is about 30 minutes from Kyoto Station by Kintetsu — practical to slot into a morning or afternoon. Adding Utoro brings a layer of history the famous sites alone don’t provide: the lives of the people who also made this region what it is.
