The museum opened in April 2022. It was built following the resolution of a decades-long land dispute and in the wake of a 2021 arson attack on the neighborhood — driven by the conviction of people across the world that this history must not be lost, and can become a source of hope. Since opening, people of all generations and nationalities have come to meet here and talk.
